I feel that most stoners reach a moment where they'd like to take an insane dose of cannabinoids at once. Whether that be through an absurdly strong edible or an enormous dab there is a certain "stoner's call-of-the-void" that lives in most of us that only takes an excuse like 4/20 or 7/10 to answer. This is your guide to megadosing.
First, let's talk about who SHOULDN'T be doing megadoses.
People who have been using cannabinoids less than one year
People who are prone to cannabinoid-induced anxiety
People who have recently done a megadose
It's quite likely that many people reading this right now are megadosing daily and are either unaware of it or simply don't care that they are doing it. In my opinion, this is nothing but a waste of money and a huge mistake. This is not a condemnation of those people who want to consume cannabinoids all day, but rather the way they are doing so. If this is you, I highly recommend you take a peek at the article I wrote: Cannabinoid Tolerance Management Tips - you can use these methods to smoke all day and still maintain a reasonable tolerance.
What even is a "Megadose"?
I think there are 2 different but equally viable definitions for a megadose. The first is simply a dose much larger than your own usual dose. It is a relative term that means different things to different people. For some who get blasted off 15mg of D8, taking 100mg might be considered a "megadose" for them. In general, if it's a LOT more than your normal dose, it's what I'd call a "megadose"'
The more common definition of the term that is more pervasive in drug culture usually refers to a megadose relative to the "average user's" tolerance. Most of the time these doses are based around round numbers - for example, with D9 THC the most common "megadoses" you will hear about are 500, and 1000mg. You can often find these kinds of pre-made products marketed with the gusto of a 13-year-old boy describing how cool a monster truck rally is.
There is certainly an amount of social credit a megadose gets you within the stoner community, especially among a less experienced or mature crowd. Even with the older folks who have been smoking for longer, it is hard to shake the bit of an ego boost you get from showing everyone your insane dosage. At the end of the day though, it really isn't anything cool or impressive - getting really high is not exactly a difficult talent to have, despite what the stoner who won't shut the fuck up about his gram dab might have you believe.
So, what is a good "Megadose" for Each Cannabinoid?
Firstly, I would avoid almost any marketed "megadose" product out there. The best-case scenario is you get something overpriced, but more often than not you are going to be getting an underdosed product.
I will be giving these numbers based on the SECOND definition I gave of a megadose - a very large dose compared to the average user's tolerance. For you, these numbers might be different. My goal here is to hit the sweet spot of being stupidly high without wasting money. These doses are enough to get the average stoner extremely high.
THESE DOSES ARE GOING TO FUCK YOUR SHIT UP, OBVIOUSLY. BE SMART. UNDERSTAND YOUR LIMITS.
